This Halloween, I decided that I am going to wear an Invisible Man Costume. Now, I’m sure you’re probably wondering how someone can go as somebody no one is supposed to be able to see. So let me give you a few Invisible Man Costume Tips.

My options are fairly limited, because science has yet to come up with a cloak of invisibility for me to wrap myself in. I could go naked, and say that my clothes are invisible, but I don’t think the police will buy that story. So, I had to be creative in what my costume was going to look like.

Fortunately for me, the real Invisible Man wasn’t always invisible – he actually had a distinct look that I can use for my costume. So here are a few of my Invisible Man Costume tips: The first thing I need is an overcoat. You know, one of those classy, Humphrey Bogart “here’s looking at you, kid” kind of overcoats. I’m talking about the kind of long overcoats that spies used to wear in the 50’s and 60’s.

Next, I found a black fedora at a yard sale that would go great with these Invisible Man Costumes. After that, I bought a big pair of sunglasses at the local convenience store. Lastly, I got a nice white button down shirt and tie, with a nice pair of slacks, and shoes to go with it. My regular church clothes work perfectly here.

But how do I make my face and hands disappear? Here is a big Invisible Man Costume tip for you: I just went to the local department store, bought a few pairs of extra large white nylons (for seeing through and breathing), brought them home, and went to work. First, I tried a nylon to see if it would fit over my head, like in all of those bank-robbing movies.

To be honest, I felt kind of silly at first, but it actually does the trick. Next, I put a white nylon on each hand, noted the length, and cut off enough nylon on each hand so it covered my hand and went up my forearm, where I secured it with a rubber-band. The white nylon takes care of my invisibility!

So, with my Invisible Man Costumes on, the nylons on, and the sunglasses on over the nylon on my head, I am all set and ready to go. I can’t wait to go trick-or-treating with my kids this Halloween.

Not only did they have fun helping me make my Invisible Man Costume, but they are excited about going out with me on Halloween night too. This Invisible Man costume was easy to make, and inexpensive, because I mostly used what I had around the house and what I could find at yard sales or discount stores.

This costume doesn’t really make me the invisible man, but it sure beats going out naked! So I hope that you can use some of these Invisible Man Costume tips to make your own Invisible Man Costume this year! Happy Halloween!
